Description: | Multec presents two innovative new products at Formnext: Metal-FFF-printing and high flow printing: Metal FFF printing uses a plastic filament containing 90 % metal powder. After FFF printing, the so-called “green” part is obtained, which can then be treated like a MIM or PIM green part. This means that the part first must have the binder material removed (debinding), and must then be sintered. Initially a 316L (stainless steel) is available with the corresponding metal filament being supplied from BASF. The downstream debinding and sintering process is provided by BASF partners as a service. Through the use of improved high-flow hot ends, it is possible to achieve higher volumetric flows and 4 times the print speed. Thanks to Multec's cutting-edge 4Move print head, there is no need to do sacrifice a fine outer surface. The 4Move allows the combination of different nozzle sizes. For example, in the same print you can use a fine nozzle for small geometry and smoother perimeters, then switch to high flow nozzles for the interior. This decisively shortens the printing time. Innovations with a future – that is the philosophy practiced by Multec GmbH with headquarters in 88636 Illmensee/Germany and is shown one more time live at formnext. Multec is specialized in the development, production and sale of industrial additive manufacturing machines and has successfully established these on the market for many years. In addition to various plastic filaments, the product portfolio also includes the additive production machines Multirap M500 and M800. Multec stands for honest and competent advice and support: before, during and after the entry into the cutting-edge technology of FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication). We advise our customers in all questions regarding technology and application optimization and support them with training, service and support.
Multec is both a manufacturer of FFF printers and a partner for printing services. With the development of the worldwide unique Move generation extruders, Multec takes 3D printing technology FFF to a new level. The heart and trademark of Multec machines is the patented quadruple printhead 4Move. The four nozzles are the basis for the versatility of the machines and allow material combinations of up to four different materials. Thus, for example, material combinations of elastic, high-strength, lubricious and electrically conductive materials can be produced. The integrated anti-drip protection ensures the clean separation of the different materials. This allows multiple prints without dripping and oozing, as only the active nozzle moves into print position. All other nozzles are parked behind a cover. As a result, molten material from the inactive nozzles is prevented from reaching the printing part, thereby defacing the printed image. In addition to material combinations, the Move printhead allows the use of different nozzle sizes, which can shorten printing times with consistently high surface quality. The Multec postprocessor further improves the printing process, especially in multi-media printing, through intelligent printhead management. The controller automatically lowers the temperature of the inactive nozzles as they pause. Shortly before use, the processor automatically starts heating up to operating temperature. Thanks to the integrated thermal management, cleaning trips can be dispensed with so that time can be saved here as well.
